Mary did not understand
As she stood before the empty tomb
She could not feel her Lord's hand
The air hung heavy with doom
But upon that Resurrection dawn
A miracle had been wrought
From death's well, life was drawn
Salvation had been bought
When long shadows cast
A pall upon the day
When all hope seems dashed
And there seems no other way
A victory cry rings out
Echoing into eternity
Our Redeemer's shout
My children shall be free!
That precious seed was sown
He is waiting even now
To come and redeem His own
Woman, why weepest thou?
